I generally rarely go to colledge. I chose the “easier” way.
Last week I wen’t to a lab exercise to be shown how .NET has a way of linking classes by dragging the mouse. It was sooo fun. For a 12 year old. Nevertheless, I went. I stayed for almost an hour and a half, listening to instructions like “now put that class directly below the last one”. The problem is, I seriously doubt that more than a third of people in that room ever did any real programming, and could grasp the idea of object oriented programming, even though they heard that term dozens of times in the past few years.

And so, I was wasting time there, and the profesor’s assistent came to me and asked “Gdje je tebi zadaća?” (translated: “where is your homework?”). I kindly replied I don’t have it, because I wasn’t there the last time, I wasn’t there this morning, and I can still keep up, (“who couldn’t?!?”) so there was no problem…. But no, I need to have a homework… I MUST have a homework… Then he left. After the class, I found out that he wrote a minus next to my name like I hadn’t been there at all?!?. SOn of a ?!?’….

I ran out of the building cursing and swearing. Yes, I was pissed. So today, I had to persuade myself for a while before deciding to go to colledge, to the same class. Again, I didn’t have a homework. And after a short chit-chat with the guy (a student, my age!!) who was suppose to be the lecturer again I decided, I’ll pass again.

I generally don’t believe in accidents, so I thought there must have been a reason I wen’t to colledge, and this class wasn’t it obviously. Yet, I didn’t have a clue, what reason it might be…. Untill I noticed a small poster saying (THE) “Rasmus Lerdorf” is going to have a lecture next week at that same crappy colledge… What a shock… I could bet anyone that 99.7 % of people on that very same colledge don’t know who he is. Still, he’s having a lecture here. (you can see I’m stil in doubt)

I’m gonna hurry back from home after Easter…. I relly don’t wanna miss this. It’s even more convenient, since I have a deadline for completing a news portal cms with a fully functional web shop, a publishing system, a user management system, image galleries, blogs, commenting, rating… and so on. The three of us who work on this project have a lot of problems adapting to MVC, and the framework we chose to build upon, so I think Rasmus migt come in handy there. I might ask him a question or two… Hey, those might be the only php related questions for him… :)) (just kidding)

So, basically, I have a small list of questions to ask him, and I was wondering, do you have some to add? Examples of questions not to use are listed below ( I thought of them first ).

1. Why did your mother call you Rasmus?
2. What do you think, is ASP much more advanced than PHP, or just a little?
3. So, what made you create the HTML programming language?
4. How long did it take you to quit using PHP and embrace Ruby (on Rails)?

:)))

P.S. I’d like to get Rasmus drunk, and take pictures of him under the bar, and post them here later. So, does anyone know what He likes to drink?
