Sprint To Target Small Businesses With WiMax

Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access or WiMax may soon be the outdated thing with Long Term Evolution or LTE around the corner but Sprint is not giving up on the technology and has launched a "4G Enterprise WAN for businesses".
This scheme will entail providing WiMax powered wireless high speed connections for small and restricted locations. According to Sprint they are using this scheme to tap into their 4G networks for businesses with a small outlet or retail locations. This scheme will help them in saving time and money on establishing wire connections to such locations and making long term contracts.
WiMax is capable of download speeds in the range of 3 to 6 Mbps. This may not serve the high end businesses which process a lot of data and need constant streaming but it functions well for small scale outlets where net access is necessary but not used very much. The biggest benefit of WiMax is that it allows unlimited downloads.
In the long run LTE might run over WiMax but for now LTE cannot offer anything close to this for the market due to their struggle for coverage and infrastructure. Hence this scheme is a good option for the facilities which require fast bandwidth in a short period.

Wimax and Wireless LTE 4G Data

3G is not up to snuff when it comes to watching YouTube video or even loading graphics-heavy web pages. But WiMax and wireless LTE technology offer the potential for real wireless, ubiquitous broadband that will allow you to load massive data from anywhere, anytime.

Technically, no wireless technology is officially 4G yet, but that is what everybody's calling WiMax and LTE, because they both promise mobile internet speeds that leave current 3G in the dust. The main WiMax player in the US is Clearwire, which is majority owned by Sprint, while LTE is championed by AT&T. Verizon also selected LTE, which makes sense because its parent company, Vodafone, is gung-ho for LTE in Europe where everyone's on GSM. Both WiMax and LTE use the same fundamental technology, called orthogonal frequency-driven multiplexing access, and they are both IP based.

It seems as if Samsung is not satisfied with its 4G WiMAX capable Google Nexus S 4G on Sprint because recently an unnamed newer Samsung Sprint SPH-D600 with Android Gingerbread and WiMAX capability has just came into focus.

The Samsung Sprint which passed the FCC about a month ago comes with features like front 3.2 megapixel camera, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, a web-cam, Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread platform and 4G WiMAX connectivity placed as a rival to the HTC wildfire. A couple of more Android Gingerbread smart phones will be joined with 4G WiMAX like the sprint Nexus S 4G and HTC EVO 3D.
Samsung will soon be unleashing the Samsung Within on Sprint which is none other than the Samsung Galaxy S2 (sprint variant) however it yet not known whether it will be WiMAX capable or Not.
